We offer accredited ED registrar positions across three Eastern Health campuses – Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals, located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

Eastern Health Emergency Services is a fully accredited ACEM training network offering:

  • varied patient case mix (over 170,000 adult and paediatric attendances annually)
  • support from 50+ FACEMs
  • accreditation for log book paediatric training
  • a comprehensive and highly successful education program
  • protected teaching time
  • focussed programs for primary and fellowship examination preparation
  • support for trainee-led research projects including supervision from the network director of emergency medicine research A/ Prof Paul Buntine
  • financial support for educational courses and examinations

Eastern Health rotations may include:

  • Anaesthetics
  • Intensive Care
  • General Medicine
  • Hospital in the Home
  • O&G
  • Paediatrics
  • Clinical skills post in Emergency Ultrasound (led by the Director of Melbourne University’s Clinical Ultrasound Course, Dr Lindsay Bridgford.)

We also facilitate external rotations to suit skills acquisition and individual training needs, including:

  • Royal Children’s Hospital Emergency Department
  • Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital Emergency Department

Eastern Health has a record of excellent results in ACEM examinations, and our Primary and Fellowship examination programs are supported by very experienced tutors and ACEM examiners.

We are flexible in trying to accommodate trainee preference for duration of appointment, part time versus full time employment and desired rotations including non ED terms.
