Eastern Health offers this clinic at Eastern Health Box Hill.
Adult patients that require treatment for suspected or diagnosed dystonia (abnormal contraction of muscles). Common conditions treated include: cervical dystonia, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm.
Information to be included in the referral:
- Clinical history, imaging results, previous treatment tried.
Referral to this clinic is not appropriate for:
- Children below 15 years of age (refer to Paediatric Medicine).
- Patients requiring botulinum toxin for chronic migraine.
- Patients with spasticity problems should be referred to the Focal Spasticity Management Clinic (FSMC).

If your patient’s condition deteriorates, please send an updated referral via HealthLink Smart Forms selecting the Referral Continuation “Amended referral/update previously sent referral” with additional clinical information.
Emergency cases should be sent to the Emergency Department.
