Eastern Health understands that for people with a disability, browsing the internet can sometimes be a problematic activity depending on the level of commitment made to website accessibility.
At Eastern Health, we aim to provide a website that is easily accessible to all users. We are working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website constantly.
Our website aims to meet the Australian Government’s web accessibility requirements (the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 level AA) as defined in the Victorian government Digital Service Standard and “Make it accessible” criteria.
Linked PDF files that are not accessible to users using screen readers are being replaced with Microsoft Word documents that have passed accessibility tests.
Our videos are primarily hosted on YouTube with proofed captions files uploaded alongside the video file. Languages other than English utilise YouTube’s automatically generated transcripts. We recognise inconsistencies with these and are working towards providing a written transcript of the video where translated captions are unavailable or are of insufficient quality.
If you require any content hosted on our website in an alternate format, please contact us.
