Children’s Multidisciplinary Assessment Clinic

This play-based assessment group involves a team of therapists which may include the speech therapist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, counsellor and dietician. The group is appropriate for children who present with more than one developmental area of concern eg. speech, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, fussy eating.

The program runs every month, alternating between Yarra Junction and Healesville. During this time, the parent/guardian and child is involved in free play, as well as individual appointments. During the free play time, the therapists observe the child’s language, communication and social skills as well as coordination and fine and gross motor skills. There is opportunity for parents/guardians to discuss any concerns or ask questions of the therapists.

Each parent is offered brief feedback during the session and will receive written feedback within two weeks of the session. Follow up therapy and/or referral is also organised as appropriate.
