- A positive RAT will now be accepted by the Department of Health as evidence of COVID-19 infection without requiring confirmation by PCR.However, you are required to take the following actions:EASTERN HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR STAFFIf positive RAT or PCR result:If negative RAT result:
- If negative RAT result: No action is required.
If you are a close contact of a positive case:-
Fill in Eastern Health Redcap Notification Form. (A COVID-19 close contact is someone who lives with a positive case (household contact) or has spent more than four hours with a positive person in a house, accommodation or care facility setting during their infectious period.)
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL VICTORIANSIf positive RAT result:-
Report any POSITIVE RAT result to the Department of Health online at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/report or call 1800 675 398.
If negative RAT result:-
No Department action required for negative RAT results
Note: It’s important to note that clearance from isolation is now automatically allowed at day 8 and you will know this date from your initial lodgement to the Department of Health of your positive result.More detailed information is available in our regularly updated FAQs.
