Staff Requirements For Reporting COVID-19 Results and Close Contact Status
A positive RAT will now be accepted by the Department of Health as evidence of COVID-19 infection without requiring confirmation by PCR.
 
However, you are required to take the following actions:
 
EASTERN HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR STAFF
If positive RAT or PCR result:
If negative RAT result:
  • If negative RAT result: No action is required.
If you are a close contact of a positive case:
  • Fill in Eastern Health Redcap Notification Form. (A COVID-19 close contact is someone who lives with a positive case (household contact) or has spent more than four hours with a positive person in a house, accommodation or care facility setting during their infectious period.)
 
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL VICTORIANS
If positive RAT result:
If negative RAT result:
  • No Department action required for negative RAT results
 
Note: It’s important to note that clearance from isolation is now automatically allowed at day 8 and you will know this date from your initial lodgement to the Department of Health of your positive result.
