Do I need an appointment?
For most tests no appointment is necessary. If, however, you are pregnant and require a Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) or Glucose Challenge Test (GCT), please contact us to make an appointment.
If you have a baby or young child who requires blood tests, it is advisable to make an appointment to ensure that suitably qualified staff are available
What is my test about?
The majority of pathology tests are routine and involve the collection of only a small amount of blood or urine. If you require more specific information on your test, please select this link which will direct you to Labtests Online (click here). This site offers detailed information on the myriad of tests available.
Special Instructions
Some pathology tests require you to follow some simple instructions to ensure the test provides an accurate result. Your GP will advise if any special instructions need to be followed. Your doctor will print these for you from the Eastern Health Pathology Online Handbook.
Results reporting
Most test results will be completed within one to two days and the results will be returned to your GP. Please contact your GP directly to obtain and discuss your test results. Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to ring the laboratory to obtain your results. However, if you are having regular blood tests for Warfarin dosing, you will be contacted by us with your results and your Warfarin dose.
