Eastern Health’s Infant Child & Youth Mental Health Services (ICYMHS) is one of 13 Specialist Mental Health Services in Victoria that offers a range of programs targeted at infants, children, adolescents and youth up to 25 years of age that are presenting with major or complex mental health problems and living with the Eastern Health catchment. Our work is to support  better mental health and wellbeing for infants, children and adolescents with their families, carers and .

Referral to ICYMHS is considered when mental health problems persist after receiving support from other mental health services or when the mental health problems are severe or complex.

Everyone seeking or receiving care ICYMHS are entitled to rights and responsibilities with regard to access, safety, respect, information, participation, privacy and complaints. Our service is committed to ensure that these rights and responsibilities are recognised and upheld at all times.

In an emergency

If there is an urgent concern about an infant, child or adolescent’s mental health and wellbeing:

  • After hours Eastern Health Triage 1300 721 927
  • Call 000 and ask for an ambulance
  • If it is safe to drive, attend your nearest emergency department for assessment.
