Private Obstetrician Care

Angliss Hospital

If you are allocated to Angliss Hospital for birthing and wish to engage a Private Obstetrician for pregnancy care (see list below) you will need the following:

A referral from your GP for your chosen Obstetrician.
An electronic referral form from your Obstetrician to Eastern Health.

Antenatal (pregnancy) visits are attended in the obstetrician’s private rooms. You will give birth at Angliss Hospital with your care provided by the maternity team. Please check with your chosen Obstetrician for their out of pocket costs.

If you are allocated to Box Hill Hospital for birthing and wish to engage a Private Obstetrician for pregnancy and birthing care you will need the following:

A referral from your GP for your chosen Obstetrician.

An electronic referral form from your Obstetrician to Eastern Health.

Antenatal (pregnancy) visits are attended in the obstetrician’s rooms. Your Obstetrician will be available during and after your birth. Please check with your chosen Obstetrician for their out of pocket costs. Please be aware there are also out of pocket expenses associated at Eastern Health with this model.
