We provide specialist medical care to patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract including the liver and pancreas.

Our areas of expertise include: viral hepatitis; hepatocellular carcinoma; inflammatory bowel disease; coeliac disease; eosinophilic oesophagitis; and functional bowel disease (IBS).

We also provide diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP and capsule endoscopy. Fibroscan assessment of liver fibrosis is also available. Breath tests for Fructose and lactose malabsorption, and small bowel overgrowth, and tests for calprotectin and thiopurine metabolites are provided by our laboratory. Patients will be triaged according to their presenting problem and where possible, offered an appointment in a clinic location closest to their home address (subject to appointment availability and waiting times).

For all other Gastroenterology conditions, please continue to refer as per clinical assessment and need.

If your patient’s condition deteriorates, please send an updated referral via HealthLink SmartForms selecting the Referral Continuation “Amended referral/update previously sent referral” with additional clinical information.

    • Please be advised that Fibroscan services are currently in the process of being transferred from Monash University to being provided by Eastern Health. Work is in progress with regards to setting up the Eastern Health Fibroscan service to commence early in 2024.There will be a very limited Fibroscan services in the meantime.
