Consumer and Carer - Register
The Consumer/Carer Register provides consumer and carer members an opportunity for lived experience participation across the Adult Mental Health service who are paid in Honorarium for the work they provide.
This may include lived experience presentations, representation on committees, updating brochures and welcome packs and attending workshops, training and the Eastern Peer Support Network for quality improvement.
Eastern Peer Support Network (ESPN)
The Eastern Peer Support Network is an initiative that commenced in 2015 across the Inner- and Outer Eastern Areas of Melbourne. The network specifically aims to bring people with a lived experience of mental ill-health or caring for someone with a lived experience of mental ill-health and/or substance use issues together, who provide, or want to provide, their knowledge, skills and support to local health and community services, and their service users.
The EPSN provides opportunity for Lived Experience workers to meet, learn about various services, gain new knowledge and skills, and be exposed to further opportunities to learn and work. Monthly network meetings, opportunities for workforce training, employment, and an annual Lived Experience forum have been features of this unique network over the years.
A relationship exists between the Eastern Mental Health Service Coordination Alliance (EMHSCA) and the EPSN, with the aim of promoting the role and needs of the Lived Experience workforce across the region.
If you are currently working in a lived experience role or are interested in using your lived experience to improve mental health services for consumer and carers please email: PeerSupport.MentalHealth@easternhealth.org.au
