The Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (ECASA), would like to let you know that we are still operating and are committed to providing ongoing counselling, advice and support during this challenging time.
For the safety and health of clients, our staff and the wider community we have transitioned to telephone counselling and other on-line visual and audio platforms where appropriate.
Our dedicated Intake Team are still taking new referrals and able to provide support and consultation where necessary.

ECASA provides a free counselling and support service to people who have experienced sexual assault either recently or in the past. The service is also available to non-offending family and friends. ECASA’s counsellors are trauma specialists with degrees in psychology, social work or counselling.
- Face to face and telephone counselling and support
- 24 hour access to crisis care services for adults who have been sexually assaulted within the last two weeks
- Therapeutic group work
- Information and referral to other relevant services
- Community education
- Secondary consultation and training for professionals
How to access a service
You do not need a referral from your GP to use our service. You can call our duty worker on 9870 7330 and an initial assessment appointment will be arranged for you.
Health professionals wishing to refer a client can call our duty line with the client present.
People who have been sexually assaulted during the past two weeks are offered an immediate crisis care service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it confidential?
All our files are confidential. However there are limits to confidentiality where files are subpoenaed to court.
Where safety concerns exist a Counsellor/Advocate will exercise their duty of care i.e. contacting mental health services if you are suicidal, Child Protection if you are currently being abused and are under 18 years or police if you disclose an assault by an adult and are 16 or under.

Appointments are also available at Box Hill, Deakin University, Doncaster, Glen Waverley, Hawthorn, Knox, Nunawading and Yarra Junction.

Available on site at Ringwood East. Outreach location parking varies.
