Eastern Health Acute Stroke Nurse, Tanya Frost highlighted the performance of the team at the Box Hill Campus.

“It was a privilege to have Professor Martins in attendance, with Box Hill being identified as an exemplar site, and as the only Primary Stroke Service in Australia to have the official WSO certification.

“This is a testament to the stroke teams dedicated work over many years to provide excellent care and experiences for our community,” she said.

Earlier this year the Eastern Health Box Hill Stroke Unit was internationally recognised for meeting the highest standards in stroke treatment and care.

The WSO Angels awarded the hospital WSO Gold Status, for reaching a target of restoring blood-flow to the brain to more than 50 per cent of eligible patients within 60 minutes of their hospital arrival.
