While many are enjoying the holiday season with loved ones, health care workers are right where they’re needed most. Their dedication, skill, and compassion are the true gifts of the season.
Registered Nurse and Midwife Jemma will be spending Christmas morning with her family before coming into work to take care of the families also spending the festive season in hospital.
“I think I get more into the festive spirit working than if I wasn’t working. I am working Christmas day, which is tricky with three young kids, so we had to make some changes around that.”
Although Jemma will be missing Christmas day with her children, she is honoured to be helping families bring new members into the world during this time.
“I work across antenatal, birth suite and postnatal supporting birthing people and their babies. I like being able to make a positive difference in the lives of families and empower them to feel confident.”
Stay safe and be kind to those that care for you during this festive season.
