ECMO service saving lives & winning awards

The Eastern Health ECMO service recently received the Silver Level ELSO Award.

ECMO is a form of emergency heart lung bypass administered by the ICU team, often as a final attempt to save a critically unwell patient.

To acknowledge this award, a recipient of the ECMO treatment, Paul Kempton and his wife Tania Kempton were reunited with the team who saved his life, Channel 7 covered the story.
