Healthcare professionals, researchers and the community came together at the annual Eastern Health Research Forum to showcase and celebrate collaborative research efforts across the organisation.
Researchers presented more than 40 projects and 26 posters, showcasing the breadth of research being undertaken and the innovative approaches being used to improve patient care.
Director of Research and University Relations, Professor David Taylor, said this year’s theme, “Researching Together,” reflects the importance of unity and cooperation in advancing healthcare knowledge.
“Our theme highlights, that research involves many people working together to improve healthcare issues that are of interest to the community and consumers we serve and beyond. It aims to fulfil the promise of Healthier Together.
“It is important to share research in forums to enable researchers to showcase their research and for us to celebrate the diversity of research outcomes across Eastern Health. It reflects that there is a vibrant research community,” Prof Taylor said.
The forum featured three keynote speakers;
– Executive Manager of the Victorian Aboriginal Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) Olivia Payne, who presented marra ngarrgoo, marra goorri:
– The Victorian Aboriginal Health, Medical and Wellbeing Research Accord. Chief Operating Officer of Monash Partners Angela Jones, shared insights into the Monash Partners Strategic Plan
