“Nursing has always been a calling for me, and my passion lies in providing compassionate, person-centred care, especially for our elderly population.”
For Aged Care Employee Day (7 August) we’d like to highlight Anne Chien. Four months after starting as a registered nurse at Eastern Health murrenda Residential Aged Care, she is finding it both rewarding and humbling, as there is always something new to learn.

“I feel honoured to support the residents in this stage of life, helping to maintain their dignity, independence and comfort.
Joining a new team can be daunting, but the warmth and support from the team have helped me feel at home quickly.” Anne said.
She talks about how her perspective on care, respect and family is shaped by her culture, and how she brings these values to practice.
“My cultural background has taught me to view ageing as a respected and natural part of life.
It influences how I communicate with residents and families; always with respect, gentleness and sincerity.” Anne explained.

She continues to reflect on what celebrating Aged Care Employee Day means to her.
“It’s a beautiful reminder that the work we do matters.
Often, our efforts happen behind the scenes, but days like this remind us that our presence makes a difference.”
Anne truly exemplifies the Eastern Health value of ’Respect for All’.
Thank you to all our wonderful Aged Care Employees for the care you provide every day.
