Parliamentary Secretary for Women’s Health, Kat Theophanous, recently visited the Eastern Health Blackburn Women’s Health Clinic to meet with staff and discuss the ongoing development of the service.
Ms Theophanous was joined by the Member for Glen Waverley, John Mullahy and the Member for Ashwood, Matt Fregon, who were given an overview of the clinic’s broad range of services.

Eastern Health Head of Gynaecology, Dr Virochana Kaul, and Clinical Nurse Consultant Eve Hassett, outlined how the clinic delivers safe, inclusive and culturally responsive care, while ensuring affordable access to essential health services for women.
The Parliamentary Secretary and visiting members also toured the clinic with Eastern Health Associate Program Director of Women & Children, Kym Harrison, and Director Operations Women & Children, Christine Lamotte.

“It is transformational to be able provide a women’s health clinic with a comprehensive array of services that are all connected within our organisation; alleviating the emotional and physical burden consumers may face when suffering concurrent health challenges,” Ms Harrison said.
The clinic began operation in July 2025, providing specialised services including a Pelvic Pain Clinic, Sexual Health Clinic, Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause Clinic, Women’s Allied Health Clinic and group education sessions.
