National Day of Recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners

On Wednesday 7 August we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners Day. We are grateful for and appreciate First Nations staff who have chosen to bring their valuable skills and knowledge to Eastern Health.

The Eastern Health Aboriginal Workforce Plan 2023-2026 supports our vision to become an employer of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are proud of the staff who have identified as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander origin and continue to work towards creating an environment where we can attract and develop a strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce that is central to the provision of culturally responsive health services, resulting in better health outcomes for Community.
