The Hospital Medical Officers of the Year Award recognises doctors who demonstrate professional practice, play an active part in multidisciplinary health care teams, and communicate effectively.
This year there are two winners who exemplified the Eastern Health promise of Healthier Together.
Esther Walker
“I have really enjoyed working at Eastern Health. Everyone is really friendly, helpful and supportive.”
Esther demonstrates exceptional organisational skills and is wonderful at communicating with families. She shows initiative, is highly reliable and completes tasks to the highest standard. Her contribution often exceeds expectations.
Esther works seamlessly with the multidisciplinary team, understands her responsibilities, and acts on them promptly while escalating appropriately when needed. She has an excellent understanding of patients and their needs.
Masaki Sai
“I didn’t expect it at all, but it feels nice to be recognised.”
Masaki consistently goes the extra mile to support colleagues across the ward. His excellent communication skills, polite and attentive manner, and strong teamwork make him a valued member of the team.
He is reliable, proactive, and takes ownership of tasks, following them up promptly and to a high standard.
