“One minute you’re off to Kosovo and the next minute, you’re being taken off the plane and told ‘The position is no longer there for you. You’re going to Afghanistan now’.”
Deputy Director Operations, Acute Medicine at Eastern Health, Mo Duncan moved to Australia after fifteen years working in the British Army as a nurse.
“I do work well with guidelines and structure in place, and in this sort of ever changing health service, we have to be really adaptable.”
Upon arriving in Australia, Mo worked a few years in the private health sector before joining Eastern Health.
Her wide variety of experiences have equipped her with the skills and knowledge to excel in her current role.
“The hospital setting is really just one small part of what we do for our patients.
“And really, we’re trying to keep them well at home, or once they’ve got here, get them back into the home.”
Mo aims to provide care that is beyond the four walls of the hospital; Working towards our promise of being healthier together.
