Enhancing surgical capacity at Eastern Health Blackburn

Eastern Health Blackburn will soon be home two new operating theatres as part of planned works to upgrade the site.

The works will involve significant internal and external changes and will require the campus to close for these works to occur.

The works commence in mid-October, with main works and modular installation occurring within a short period after.

The Eastern Health Blackburn project will see the addition of two Operating Rooms, new Central Sterile Supply Department and ‘Clean’ spaces and a new Pharmacy. External Works will also take place, including; roadwork, car parking and landscaping.

Eastern Health patients will not be impacted by the works, with surgeries being diverted to either Box Hill or Maroondah campuses.

All Eastern Health Blackburn staff will also be redirected to other campuses.

Eastern Health Blackburn is due to recommence services in 2024. These upgrades will aid us in our unwavering commitment to providing the best health care experiences and outcomes.
