Eastern Health welcomes new Board Chair

Eastern Health welcomes new Board Chair, Eugene Arocca.

Mr Arocca brings over 40 years of experience from his diverse career as a lawyer, senior executive and board member.

“I am very honoured and quite humbled to be provided with the opportunity to lead this great organisation,” he said.

Mr Arocca is currently a board director for HealthShare Victoria and the Victorian Interpreting and Translating Service (VITS). He also serves as Board Chair for the VITS People and Culture Committee.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with my fellow directors at Eastern Health and continue supporting the outstanding work of our executives, clinicians, staff and volunteers in providing healthcare services across Melbourne’s east,” he said.

Eastern Health would also like to thank outgoing Board Chair Tass Mousaferiadis for his service to Eastern Health and the community.

“I want to acknowledge and thank Tass Mousaferiadis, for his long and distinguished leadership as a director and Chair of Eastern Health and for assisting with my transition into the role as Chair,” Mr Arocca said.

Mr Mousaferiadis has worked across the public health sector for almost 40 years in various roles and was appointed Chair of Eastern Health Board in July 2019.

“My time here at Eastern Health really brought together my two passions: governance and public health. I’ve aspired to be on a health service board and to be Chair has been an absolute privilege,

“I’m very proud of the work Eastern Health does and the care that it delivers. I’m also proud of the values and culture of the organisation. I look forward to seeing how Eastern Health continues to improve the care of our vibrant community.” Mr Mousaferiadis said.

Mr Arocca commenced his appointment as Eastern Health Board Chair on 1 October 2025.
