Community Support Powers New Innovation in Breast Cancer Screening

New technology for breast cancer screening funded through community support.

The Eastern Health Breast and Cancer Centre at Eastern Health Maroondah has received a new Lumicare Unit to support breast screening services.

Breast Sonographer, Jenelle Williams has seen first hand how the new Lumicare Unit has improved patient care.

“We use the unit to sterilise the probes in-between biopsies, its actually 14 times faster than our prior unit. This not only improves our workflow, but it also lessens the anxiety of our patients, who are waiting for their procedure.”

This would not have been possible without the support of Shades of Pink community, and their collaboration with the Eastern Health Foundation.
