The Eastern Health Institute hosted the Annual Research Forum as the centrepiece of Research Week (November 17–21). The Forum featured dynamic presentations from researchers across a variety of fields. Throughout the week, posters have been displayed around Box Hill Hospital and the Eastern Health Institute showcasing a breadth of research.
Attendees also heard from keynote speakers, Associate Professor of Psychiatry Judy Hope, speaking on the research capacity and culture of an urban mental health and wellbeing program, and Associate Program Director Eastern Health Maroondah BreastScreen, Michelle Giles, presenting an interim analysis of the effectiveness of hybrid screening.
Capping off the Forum was the presentation of the Eastern Health Foundation Research & Innovation Grants. Since 2012, the Eastern Health Foundation have supported 220 grant recipients with over $4.5 million in funding to improve diagnosis, treatment, and patient experiences. This program empowers staff to deliver breakthroughs in patient care across diverse fields, from cardiology and oncology to mental health and physiotherapy. The annual program is made possible thanks to the generosity of our research donors, whose support drives innovation that transforms healthcare for Melbourne’s eastern suburbs and beyond.
