Advancing excellence in stroke care 

Dr Philip Choi is Deputy Director, Neurosciences. As Clinical Lead for Stroke and Stroke Research at Eastern Health, Dr Philip Choi is helping shape the future of stroke care. 

Under Dr. Choi’s leadership, Eastern Health achieved a significant milestone in 2026, becoming the first health service in Australia to have two certified Stroke centres; at Eastern Health Box Hill and Maroondah. This achievement reflects years of collaboration and commitment to ensuring patients receive high-quality stroke care, closer to home.  

Despite this success, Phil remains focused on what’s next. His vision includes exploring innovative technologies, such as portable MRI capability, and expanding access to time-critical stroke treatments to further improve patient outcomes.
