$112 million Angliss redevelopment is now open

The $112 million Eastern Health Angliss redevelopment is now open.

Members of the Eastern Health Board and Executive, along with Angliss staff and local Member for Monbulk, Daniela De Martino, came together for a smoking ceremony led by Wurundjeri Elder, Aunty Joy Murphy Wandin and Craig Murphy Wandin. 

The expansion is a significant boost for the area, given  significant population growth across Knox and the Yarra Ranges and  demand for healthcare services continuing to increase.The expansion ensures Eastern Health can meet both current and future healthcare needs close to home.

The project also replaces ageing infrastructure and delivers modern, purpose-built clinical facilities designed to support contemporary models of care for patients and staff. 

The project delivers a new three-storey clinical building featuring: 

• 32 additional inpatient beds, in the new 1 Central Ward 

• 4 new operating theatres 

• An upgraded Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) 

• Expanded allied health and outpatient service areas 

• Additional parking 

The redevelopment has been designed to create a welcoming and culturally safe environment for all patients, families, and staff. Drawing inspiration from the natural landscape of the nearby Dandenong Ranges, the building incorporates colours, materials, and design elements that reflect the local environment and sense of place.
