Eastern Health has celebrated the contribution of its staff and volunteers, awarding its annual A2i (Aspire to Inspire) Awards to a number of outstanding individuals.

Nominees from across all programs and sites were acknowledged for their extraordinary commitment to exemplifying Eastern Health’s key values and organisational priorities.

Recipients of the awards included staff from across all areas of the health service, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, administration and corporate support.

Eastern Health Chief Executive Adjunct Professor David Plunkett congratulated all award recipients, including long serving staff members who were also acknowledged at the event.

“I’d like to congratulate all those recognised for their outstanding contribution. Many who stepped onto the stage might consider what they do as just part of an ordinary day’s work. However, the impact they have on their patients, colleagues and the community is nothing short of extraordinary. And for that we are all most grateful,” Adj Prof Plunkett said.

“Thank you also to our event sponsors, Smartleasing, HESTA, CFS Australasia, the LSJ Collection, BankVic and G & C Mutual Bank for their ongoing support.”

Staff celebrating 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 years of service were presented with commemorative badges to honour their dedication. Midwife Mary Thomas was the longest serving staff member acknowledged at the event, celebrating 50 years of service at Box Hill Hospital.
