New Emergency Department Workflow

Friday, October 08, 2021

Eastern Health has now erected marquees out the front of our three Emergency Departments (Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals) to assist with the streaming of patients through each department.

With rising number of COVID-19 cases in the community and growing demand on the hospitals, these structures are for pre-assessment and triage of people requiring Emergency medical care.

The marquees will provide assessment spaces for walk-in patients whilst they await onward management of their presenting condition as required. The space will be fully operational with heating, cooling and air purification to ensure the comfort and safety of both the patients and staff.

We will update you as these new workflow processes come in to effect.
