The redevelopment of Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health is complete. Services recommenced at the completely refurbished building on February 6, 2017. 

Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health provides a range of acute and community health services. The hospital serves an area of approximately 2000 square kilometres, which includes the townships of Healesville, Yarra Junction, Warburton, Yarra Glen and smaller rural communities. Limited off street parking including disabled parking is available via the
main entrance driveway.

Failure to observe parking restrictions on the hospital grounds and
surrounding streets may result in a parking infringement notice being
issued by the local council.

Taxies and Public transport

Taxi drop off and pick up is available at the main entrance via Maroondah Highway. Reception staff can assist with booking
a taxi for you.

Several bus routes stop along Maroondah Highway outside the Hospital. Further information and timetables available via Public Transport Victoria..

Visiting hours

To protect our patients, families, employees, and the community, new visitor restrictions are now in place until the transmission of COVID-19 is no longer a threat. Please ensure you check updated restrictions prior to visiting any patient.



There is no onsite retail facilities at Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health. The Healesville township is within a 5-
minute drive from the Hospital and has a wide range of retail outlets and ATM facilities available.

Sacred space

An area is made available for consumers, their families and friends, staff or others, to use for such purposes as a quiet
retreat, reflection, prayer, worship, small religious services and other appropriate cultural expressions. Staff can direct you
to this area.

Opened in 2008, Yarra Ranges Health is a day hospital located in Lilydale.

The Day Surgery Unit provides a wide variety of day surgery procedures and the Day Oncology Unit delivers oncologist and chemotherapy services. A range of specialist clinical, rehabilitation and outreach services are also available at Yarra Ranges Health.

Some of these services include:

Established in 1985, Peter James Centre in East Burwood provides rehabilitation and aged-care services to people following illness or surgery, or who have disabilities or chronic illness. It has rehabilitation beds, complex rehabilitation beds, acute inpatient aged psychiatry beds and a residential aged care facility (mental health).

Services include Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Aged Persons Mental Health Services, Aged Care Assessment Service, Aged Psychiatry Assessment Team, Haemodialysis, Residential Care and Transition Care. Established in 1976, Maroondah Hospital in Ringwood East is a metropolitan teaching hospital that provides secondary acute care, and acute adult mental health services.

Our services include emergency medicine, general and specialist medicine, general and specialist surgery, critical care services, ambulatory and allied health services.

Please note: In light of current Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions temporarily in place at Box Hill Hospital, visitors and patients attending the hospital can ONLY enter via the main entrance located at 8 Arnold Street, Box Hill. All other access points are CLOSED.

In the event of a medical emergency, access to the Emergency Department remains open from Rogerson Road.   


Established in 1956, Box Hill Hospital is the largest of our acute hospitals admitting more than 48,000 patients each year.

We provide a wide range of healthcare services including: emergency care, general and specialist medicine, intensive care, mental health services for children, adolescents and adults, maternity services, post-acute care programs, surgery, teaching and research.

We are a university teaching hospital affiliated with Monash, La Trobe and Deakin Universities.

The Emergency Department entrance is via Rodgerson Road

All wards are located in Building A (entrance via Arnold Street)

Maternity Service
The Box Hill Hospital Maternity Service, including antenatal ward, birthing suites, special care nursery, fetal monitoring and specialist clinics, is located on Level 3, Building A.

Specialist Clinics (Outpatients)
Most Specialist Clinics (Outpatients) operate from Building B and entry to these clinics are from Nelson Road.

Angliss Hospital was established in 1939, located at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges.

Angliss services cover the south of Knox to the south-west of the Yarra Ranges, as well as Croydon and parts of Ringwood.

We provide a wide range of healthcare services including: Emergency Care, General Medicine, Surgery, Intensive Care, Midwifery, Paediatrics and Rehabilitation.

Angliss is also able to offer programs which allow patients to be cared for in their homes.

A high level aged care facility known as Edward Street Nursing Home is located next to the hospital

Please Note

Building works will be occurring in the Angliss Hospital Emergency Department front of house from September 30, 2019, to construct a Behavioural Assessment Room. Directional signage is currently on-site to ensure there is minimal disruption to services. Work is expected to conclude on November 29, 2019. The Behavioural Assessment Room will be a great addition to the Emergency Department and the service we provide to our community, and we thank you for your patience as the works are underway.
