Box Hill Hospital Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Item: Portable Ultrasound machines x 2
1. Portable Ultrasounds provide quick scans for outpatients and in the Birth Suite. These would mostly be scans to check if the baby was presenting head first or feet first, or to locate the placenta
2. A higher capacity portable ultrasound machine, to be located in our fetal medicine assessment centre, will be used to detect and monitor fetal growth restriction, an important part of preventing stillbirth

Maroondah Hospital Acute Wards (1N, 2N, 3N, 3E and Intensive Care)

Item: Sara Steady x 5
A Sara Steady enables patients to safely (and with more dignity) transfer to/from bed to chair or commode. Patients support their own weight rather than be needing to be hoisted.
Urgency: High (tp prevent injury to patients and staff)
Cost: $1,995 per unit
Need: For patients with general weakness, or instability of cardiovascular system, or lack of confidence with transfers in and out of bed etc, as a result of illness.

Need: The Emergency Department at Angliss Hospital is seeing increasing numbers of seriously ill patients. Adjustable trauma stretchers and mattresses will allow us to perform life-saving procedures with greater safety and comfort for our patients. They will also reduce the risk of pressure areas, agitation and falls for the elderly.
