Adjustable trauma stretchers and mattresses will allow us to perform life-saving procedures with greater safety and comfort for our patients. They will also reduce the risk of pressure areas, agitation and falls for the elderly

Portable Ultrasound machine - birthing suite

Ward: Obstetrics & Gynaecology 
Use: Portable Ultrasounds provide quick scans for outpatients and in the Birth Suite. These would mostly be scans to check if the baby was presenting head first or feet first, or to locate the placenta

Portable Ultrasound machine - fetal medicine assessment centre

Ward: Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Use: A higher capacity portable ultrasound machine, to be located in our fetal medicine assessment centre, will be used to detect and monitor fetal growth restriction, an important part of preventing stillbirth

Citadel bed

Use: These highly specialised electronic hospital beds allow our patients to be as comfortable as possible while receiving or recovering from treatment
Urgency: Medium
Cost: $19,990 per bed. Two required

Need: To provide the best possible equipment for our patients who are in a lot of pain or at risk of a pressure injury whilst in hospital

Assessment treatment chairs

Use: Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department would like to create an additional assessment area to assess and treat more patients during periods of high demand

Cost: $10,000 per chair. Three required

Need: The Emergency Department aim to install individual treatment chairs within the new assessment area. Chairs are smaller and have the capabilities required for staff to assess patients. Three treatment chairs will be offered in lieu of one cubicle space, maximising the opportunity to treat more patients within the space limitations of the Emergency Department

Recliner Recovery Chairs

Ward: Special Care Nursery
Use: Comfortable chairs for breast feeding mothers, particularly for mothers in pain post birth
Urgency: High
Cost: $3,459.50 per chair. Two required

Need: The chairs enable mothers to be able to lie back and cuddle their sick babies. Benefits include calming and relaxing both mother and baby, thereby regulating the baby's heart rate and breathing, helping them to better adapt to life outside the womb.

Use: The Corpuls device delivers automated chest compressions for patients who are having a cardiac arrest

Need: This device can assist with chest compressions and sustain life-saving circulation during prolonged resuscitation attempts
