At Eastern Health we’re offering Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives who have current with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia registration an opportunity to re-enter the nursing/midwifery workforce following an extended break from work in the hospital setting.
We are delivering a supported program of education, clinical teaching and ward-based learning which will enable you to obtain experience and confidence in the acute clinical setting.
The program can be undertaken on a full-time basis over six weeks (five days per week) or part time over eight weeks (three or four days per week). It includes access to clinical educator support, professional development study days, skill acquisition via simulation based learning and clinical placement in the ward setting. There is no requirement to work weekends or night duty.
On successful completion of the program you will have the opportunity to apply for suitable positions within Eastern Health.
This program is not currently available for Enrolled Nurses.Minimum criteria for the program include:
• Current registration (without conditions) with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
• Ability to demonstrate the right to live and work in Australia
•
• A commitment to completing the program of study and clinical placement hours
• A willingness to undergo pre-employment screening, including reference checks, screening of immunisation status and a police check
• Basic computer skills are required to undertake the study component of this program
Please note this program is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or midwives. Applicants who have not completed a Graduate Nurse or Midwifery program, or who cannot demonstrate a work history as an RN/RM in Australia will not be considered.For further information please email RNRP.
