Program Overview

Eastern Health are pleased to offer a Graduate Enrolled Nursing Program commencing in March 2022. This program will offer a welcoming and responsive environment to support newly graduated ENs in their transition from student to EN.

Our point of difference:

Rotations

Eastern Health has 2 pathways on offer for Graduates: 

  • General Nursing (Aged medicine, acute and residential aged care rotations)
  • Mental Health (Adult and Adolescent Inpatient Units, AOD unit rotations)

Information Session

Our information sessions will be online. We will inform you about:

  • Our graduate program
  • Recruitment processes including support with application and interview tips
  • Opportunities for you as an Eastern Health employee. 

It is a great chance for you to meet and ask questions with our Transition to Practice team. Tickets are free, but do need to be pre-booked via Eventbrite (link below). Once the final session has been held, we will also upload a session to our website for those that missed out.

Time 4:00-5:00pm

Application process

All applications must be received online via Eastern Health EH-Mercury (under Nursing Professional Opportunities) and linked to the job advertisement.

Application must include:

  • Cover letter – maximum 1 page, 12 point font addressing the following question: Why have you applied for the Eastern Health Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program and what qualities do you have that make you an ideal candidate for this position?
  • Resume- maximum 2 pages
  • Responses to short answer questions listed in mercury job advertisement
  • Certified copy of your latest academic transcript with grading key
  • 2 x clinical appraisals most relevant to your preferred pathway (Mental Health- 1 X acute, 1X Mental Health; Acute- 1X Acute, 1 X Subacute)
