Eastern Health understand that for people with a disability, browsing the internet can sometimes be a difficult activity depending on the level of commitment made to website accessibility.
At Eastern Health, we aim to provide a website that is easily accessible to all users and we are working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website on a constant basis.
Our website aims to meet the Australian Government’s web accessibility requirements (the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 level AA) as defined in the Victorian government's digital standards, Digital Service Standard and Accessibility and inclusivity content guide.
Linked PDF files that are not accessible to users using screen readers are being replaced with Microsoft Word documents that have passed accessibility tests.
Our videos are currently hosted on YouTube and while all do not include professional transcripts, they do contain YouTube's automatically generated transcripts. We recognise that there are inconsistencies with these and are working towards providing a written transcript of video where captions are not available or are of insufficient quality.
