Library Services

The Eastern Health Library Service (EHLS) provides a professional knowledge and information service for Eastern Health staff, affiliated staff and students on placement, to support their work in clinical, educational, research and policy areas. The Library Service is continually working towards ensuring the resources available are of high quality, relevant and accessible in a timely manner.

Across Eastern Health, the Library Service provides staff access to print and electronic resources including:

  • journals
  • books
  • point of care clinical support tools (such as UpToDate)
  • standards and guidelines
  • bibliographic databases
  • resource guides.

The Library Service also provides a range of knowledge and information services to staff including:

  • reference services
  • literature searches
  • research consultations
  • individual and group training
  • document supply
  • study spaces.

Staff can learn more about the Library Service’s resources and services by joining one of our monthly library orientation webinars.

Library staff are located at Box Hill Hospital, Peter James Centre and Angliss Hospital, with attendance at other sites as required. Eastern Health staff can access all library resources and services 24/7 via the Eastern Health Library Service website. When off-site staff can access library resources via Citrix and the Clinicians Health Channel.
