The Occupational Therapist works together with children and their families to address developmental concerns in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, self-care and developing sensory processing skills.
The Occupational Therapist works with children aged from 6 months to the end of Grade 1.
Reasons for referrals may include:
- Fine motor difficulties – drawing, colouring, writing
- Clumsiness or coordination difficulties impacting on gross motor skills
- Difficulty using children's tools (pencils, scissors, cutlery)
- Sensory seeking or sensitivities
- Difficulties using playground equipment
- Difficulty with self-care skills e.g. dressing
