Objectives
- To provide
Physiotherapy, as part of a multi-disciplinary approach, to disabled
adults
- To continually
up-date knowledge of the latest techniques through continuing education
and in-service programmes, and to implement these techniques where
appropriate
- To provide
training to other staff members with regard to patient handling and
other relevant issues
- To provide
Physiotherapy input for preventive and health care programmes, with
particular emphasis on manual handling and back care
- To provide
supervised clinical experience for students
- To partake
in quality improvement projects
- To support
research projects

available for PJC inpatients and Community Rehabilitation Centre,
Rehabilitation in the Home, Continence, Movement Disorders, Amputee
and Psychiatry patients and ACAS
Hours of Operation
Department
operates 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. weekdays.
Limited service for inpatients at weekends.
Not available public holidays
Philosophy
In keeping
with the Philosophy of the Peter James Centre, the Physiotherapy Department
is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team
which aims to provide assessment and treatment to all patients, with
the aim of achieving the highest possible level of independence, in
accordance with the ethics of the profession.
