Dual
Diagnosis Program
|
The
Mental Health Branch and the Drug and Health Protection Branch of the
Department of Human Services have jointly funded an initiative to improve
the responses of mental health and drug treatment services to individuals
with mental illness and substance use problems. Four specialist dual
diagnosis teams have been established through the initiative, the Eastern
Health Dual Diagnosis Program being one of these. Our multidisciplinary
team offers a range of specialist expertise and works collaboratively
with other services.
The
aim of the program is to focus on two important aspects:
|
| |
Developing the capability of hospital and community based alcohol
and drug, and mental health treatment and support services to improve
health outcomes of individuals with a dual diagnosis
|
| |
Ensure
that the inter-service arrangements (including the programs rural
component) that are developed reflect the initiatives purpose in
addressing the gaps and needs in dual diagnosis and service delivery
|
|
