Services Provided

Our physiotherapists offer inpatient, ambulatory and some home-based care to patients of Maroondah Hospital.

The Physiotherapy Department also has an on-going role in:

  • Preventative Healthcare
  • Professional Development
  • Performance Review & Development
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Teaching, Training & Research

Staff

Our Department comprises a Physiotherapy Manager with senior staff specialising in musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, emergency medicine and aged care. Junior staff rotate through a variety of clinical areas with Allied Health Assistants working in the acute and aged care service area. An Allied Health Receptionist supports the Department administratively.

As a member of the Eastern Health Physiotherapy Clinical School we offer a comprehensive clinical program to undergraduate Physiotherapy students from La Trobe University throughout the year. In partnership with Occupational Therapy & Speech Pathology we also offer clinical placements to Allied Health Assistant students.

The Professor of Physiotherapy, appointed across Eastern Health, contributes to both professional and research development for Maroondah Hospital Physiotherapy staff.
