Library Objectives
The Library shall meet the information needs of all health personnel at Maroondah Hospital.
Collection
The collection comprises over 3000 books, 200 journal titles and many audio-visual materials. The major areas covered include general medicine, surgery, psychiatry, nursing, allied health and hospital administration.

• Four week loan period - Books
• Overnight loan period - Audio-visual materials
• Limit of SIX books at one time
• Material may be renewed before the due date

Library catalogue
The Library catalogue is automated and can be accessed via the terminal on the loans desk. Books can be located either by author (personal or corporate), title, and subject or by the use of a keyword. The books are arranged on the shelves in Dewey Decimal order and the journals are arranged alphabetically by title.
New Library Material
The Librarian welcomes your suggestions for new books, journals and audio/visual material. User input into what is purchased is imperative if we are to have a collection, which meets the needs of all Maroondah Hospital staff.
Lost or non-returned materials
If Library material is not return to the Library within the appointed time, the borrower will be held responsible for it. An account for the replacement value of the material (plus administrative charges) will be forwarded by the Librarian to the borrower. All material must be returned to the Library before ceasing employment with Maroondah Hospital.
Fiction Library
The Library holds a large selection of fiction titles – these are available for loan to staff and patients.
