Maroondah Hospital is a member of Eastern Health. It is a 320-bed, community based hospital located in Ringwood East in the Outer Eastern Metropolitan area of Melbourne. The Hospital has been providing quality health care services to the outer eastern region of Melbourne since 1976.
Many of the staff that work at the hospital live in the area. Maroondah Hospital is a teaching hospital. It has affiliations with Monash, Deakin, La Trobe and Melbourne Universities for students in medicine, nursing, allied health and pharmacy.
Over the years the hospital has increased its services to accommodate the needs of its community, and since 2002 has continued to undergo redevelopment.
In 1998 Maroondah Hospital underwent initial accreditation with the independent Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and was awarded the highest level of accreditation. Maroondah Hospital was reaccredited as part of Eastern Health in November 2004. This has been maintained through the commitment and dedication of the staff who work at the hospital.
