The Transcultural Services Unit is located at the Peter James Centre Burwood campus and works with all Eastern Health sites. The Unit was established to develop and implement strategies to assist staff in responding to the needs of clients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

• Interpreter Information; Translation Requests
• Language Assistant Registry - harnessing bilingual staff skills
• Transcultural Health Audits / Demographics
• Transcultural Health Policies
• Cultural Awareness & Interpreter Training
• Development of Training Material
• Research
• Dealing with General Enquiries Regarding Transcultural Issues

The Transcultural Services Unit assists service providers in the Outer Eastern Region to develop strategies for improving client services.
