Eastern Health: Health Promotion Unit was established in 1983, over this time it has operated
in numerous different settings with a variety of staff, but throughout, has focused on health
promotion action with the local eastern region community.
The Health Promotion Unit have
over the past twenty years provided a high quality health service for which it is well respected
and utilised by all sectors of the population it serves.
The emphasis of the unit’s work has
matched health promotion development over time and hence in the past seven years has
shifted largely to population based, integrated health promotion With Box Hill Hospital
becoming part of the larger organisation now known as Eastern Health, the scope of work for
the Unit has also changed during this period, adapting a broader regional focus.
