Description |
Clinic for the investigation, assessment and treatment of a wide range of blood disorders, which may include thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, anaemia and low grade haematology malignancies. The thrombosis unit focuses on pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. The unit offers a home anticoagulant administration program that has greatly reduced the need for hospital admission. The unit also investigates clotting and bleeding disorders. The unit has a very active research program and patients may be invited to join clinical trials. |

High grade haematological malignancies may be referred by the hospital to the Friday Morning Haematology Clinic held in third floor Oncology. If this does occur, the GP will be notified by the hospital, of the internal referral. |
