Description

The gynaecology clinic is principally a clinic for patients who require gynaecological surgery. Contraceptive needs and menopausal problems are best referred to our community partner the Family Planning Clinic at 901 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill. Referrals are triaged into 3 categories:

Category 1	Postmenopausal bleeding
	Complex ovarian mass
	Suspected cancer
Category 2	Pelvic pain
	Menorrhagia
Category 3	Prolapse
	Infertility
	Simple cysts
	Lap sterilisation
	Urol-gynae problems

Investigations to be sent with the referral

Any relevant pathology, imaging and ultrasound performed

Inappropriate referrals
for this specialty

Relationship problems, sexual counselling. Patients with PAP smears requiring colposcopy should be referred to the colposcopy clinic.
