Description

This is an exciting new DHS-funded clinic open to clients living in the Eastern Health catchment area. The clinic operates two days per week at the Angliss' newly built "Community Rehabilitation Centre" in Talaskia Rd., Upper Ferntree Gully. It is staffed by a Rehabilitation Consultant, Physiotherapist, Psychologist & Occupational Therapist. Access to other services including an Anaesthetist, Nutritionist & Social Worker is also available.

The focus group of the clinic is largely subacute or chronic musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain that is not related to cancer. Clients most appropriate will be those who require medically supervised multidisciplinary rehabilitation.

Assessment & treatment services are provided. The key philosophical focus of the clinic's treatment program is the teaching of long-term self-management strategies, & use of cognitive-behavioural therapy.
