The
Box Hill Orthopaedic department is associated with medical education
at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The
two units take part in 5th Year MBBS teaching via sessions in
Outpatients, and also have attachments through the core surgery
rotation in 6th year.
There
is a teaching session on Friday mornings (7:30am) for registrars,
residents and students. This includes a tutorial, x-ray presentations
and a Grand Round.
There
is also a lecture program run weekly in the emergency department
for interested staff and students in the A & E Dept. Tutorial
Room 1:30 - 2:00pm. Check relevant noticeboards for dates and
details.
For
consultants and registrars there is a journal club monthly (1st
Thursday at 8pm), and a clinical audit meeting monthly (2nd Tues/Thurs
after each unit's respective outpatients clinic at 3pm).
