The
department runs two outpatient clinics each week.
Unit
1 - Tuesday, from 2.00pm
Unit 2 - Thursday, from 2.00pm
These
clinics deal with the assessment and outpatient management
of orthopaedic problems, placing patients on a waiting list
for surgery, and post-surgery follow up.
Patients
wishing to attend the outpatient's clinic need to be referred
to the clinic by their General Practitioner.

Fracture
Clinics are run every Monday, Tuesday and Friday morning.
The
Fracture Clinic deals with the assessment of common fractures
during their treatment. This includes monitoring the healing
of the bones, ensuring that casts and splints are working
correctly and altering treatment where required.
The
fracture clinic is attended by patients who were initially
treated for their fracture at Box Hill Hospital, either
by the Department of Orthopaedics or the Emergency Department.

This
clinic is attended by all patients booked for elective surgery
(Orthopaedic or otherwise). Patients may be seen by several
health professionals during this visit to ensure they are
fit and ready for surgery, as well as for their recovery
at home.
