A. Bruce Currey Educational Resource Centre (Library)|
The A. Bruce Currey Educational Resource Centre aims to fulfil the work-related information requirements of Box Hill Hospital staff and Monash University site staff and students. We strive to provide the most relevant and up-to-date resources, facilities and services according to our budget. ResourcesIt provides access to a wide range of subjects related to aspects of medicine, nursing, allied health, and administration. The collection is a hybrid of print and electronic media and includes: books, journals, Australian Standards, various reports, databases, and audiovisual material. Database access is primarily Web-based, with the UpToDate database available on one computer only. Internet access is available for work-related and professional study purposes. |
Open: Monday-Friday, 8.30 am-5 pm
Closed: Weekends and public holidays
After hours access is restricted to authorized Box Hill/Monash University site staff. Access is via ID swipe card at the entrance to the Resource Centre. Access is not available to students on placement or AMC/VPMF (overseas trained doctor) candidates.Librarian / Staff

Luggage
All visitors are required to leave all back-packs, briefcases and large bags in the luggage racks inside the main entrance to the Library. We advise visitors to keep valuables such as mobile phones and wallets on their person.
Loans
The loan period is variable according to the demand on the item and the category of borrower. It can range from overnight to two weeks. Some Reference material is unavailable for loan. Please see Library staff for clarification. All loans must be authorised by staff. Borrowing is not permitted after hours or when the Library is unattended.
Document Delivery
Directly work-related:
Currently, there is no charge to individual staff or departments for obtaining books, journal articles or audiovisual material from collections outside BHH. The Library bears any costs involved, both direct and indirect. The Library Manager reserves the right to check with a staff member's Manager or Supervisor regarding the work-related nature of the requested item(s).
Other:
(i) Private studies and professional development, including higher studies at any institution, e.g. a Masters degree:
Staff are encouraged to obtain material such as journal articles via the institution where they are enrolled. For those who would prefer to use the BHH service, a flat fee of $16 per item applies with surcharges for "fast track" or difficult to source material.
(ii) For courses which BHH run or where BHH has requested staff to undertake a specific course, a limited number of items may currently be requested at no charge to the participant.

- Clinicians Health Channel access and tuition
- Access to photocopier (charges may be applicable).
