Computers
and searching
The library
has 2 computers (only 1 on Friday) for searching the medical information
available through the Clinicians' Health Channel, and on the Internet.
The Librarian
can give short tutorials about searching for information on Friday
afternoons, but please ring and check first.
InterLibrary
Loans [ILL] - Obtaining material not held at Angliss
Items
can be obtained from other libraries on a limited basis.
This service is most useful for you when...
· There is some lead time, as the librarian is only available
one day a week.
· The articles are required are of value to your hospital department.
Requests are handled on Friday, and generally take a week; sometimes
longer.
The easiest
way to request an ILL is to send the librarian (email or snail) a
copy of the complete citation from the database,
with your name and contact details on the request.
Journal/Book
Locating Service
This
service is only available when the librarian is there.
Useful if you want to know where a journal or book might be held in
Melbourne. Less than 10% of journals are available free on the Internet.
Books
from other Eastern Health Libraries
All the
other libraries, Box Hill, Maroondah and Peter James, will lend books,
either directly to you, or through the librarian. This is subject
to the needs of their own staff.
Requests are handled on Friday.

Pages/Current Awareness
Maroondah,
Angliss, and Peter James Hospital Libraries produce a combined Weekly
Bulletin, which lists the contents of all the journals received in
the libraries that week. Box Hill library also produces a weekly bulletin.
If you would like to receive these bulletins and/or request copies
of any articles from them, please contact the Angliss Librarian.
Many
journals now offer notification of their most recent tables of contents
(TOC) via email. You can access their web pages through the Internet.
