Overview of Service
The Peter James Centre Continence Service was established in 1998 to provide advice and treatment for clients who themselves, their relatives and/or their doctors have concerns about their continence or surgery related to continence. In March 1999 the Maroondah Continence Service became part of the Peter James Centre and is now known as the Peter James Centre Outer East Continence Service

The continence service is a multidisciplinary clinical service specialising in incontinence and other bladder and/or bowel function difficulties, providing assessment, diagnosis, management, education and support to improve incontinence for clients.
Aims and Objectives
- To provide an accessible service to all adults and/or their carers who suffer from incontinence and its consequences.
- To achieve the outcome that best meets the needs of the client.
- To increase community awareness of incontinence as a significant health and quality of life issue.
- To encourage earlier intervention thus reducing the incidence and impact of incontinence in the future.
- To provide a resource for health professionals and health workers.

The Service provides for all adults experiencing incontinence.
Who Can Refer
Individuals can self refer or can be referred by the relevant health professional, family member, carer or case manager.
